The importance of PPM in Information Technology

Information Technology has taken on a pivotal role in today’s modern organization, providing not only the servers, networks and applications but also the technical infrastructure of all the other departments.

The IT department provides the backbone of services to the operations of the entire enterprise, and it is key to be able to measure and manage the objectives set.

For IT management to have an overview and control of the milestones, quality of deliverables, whether the objectives are being achieved within the agreed upon timelines and budgets respected, gives them the control of resource utilization and the related costs of each service being provided.
